Outdoor Fun to Celebrate Earth Day in New Jersey

Earth Day 2012 5K Run/Walk

Neighborhood: Liberty State Park

Jersey City, NJ 07305

United States of America

Butterflies, streams, seeds, cherry-blossoms, soil, earth, insects; all picturesque words that make one think of Spring. I, personally love being outside and enjoying the weather especially for a good cause such as, Earth Day. Earth Day should be celebrated more often than just once per year. Many local schools, partake in private beautification events in an effort to teach children the importance of Earth Day and the beauty of nature and overall appreciation of Earth. Also, many families begin to prepare vegetable and flower gardens. Watching things grow from a small minute seed into something of sustenance is beautiful.

This year, Earth Day falls on April 22nd. Don’t wait until the last minute to see what is happening. I recommend conducting a simple Internet search or visiting your local library to determine other Earth Day venues. As the weather continues to get warmer, there are also many 5K walks that are beginning. I completely support walks for a cause. For the past three years I have participated in a handful of walks, to support multiple sclerosis and juvenile diabetes. Not only are you out enjoying nature and the weather you are giving back to society and a wonderful cause.

I’ve viewed many Earth Day events and I decided to review this one because it supports two great causes: Fitness and Earth Day. It is also held in a superb location: Liberty State Park! You can make a family-day out of it and visit other local attractions such as, the Liberty Science Center. Here are the details you have been waiting for.
